Two weeks ago, Jason and I started up a new website called Mother Popper. It's a melding of my unhealthy knowledge of current pop culture with my impending motherhood.
So... things like Maggie Gyllenhaal breastfeeding in public (no cover up, just a bare breast and a baby) are good topics. I'll also be writing about cool baby/kid/mommy/daddy items I find on the internet and hopefully will also be doing product reviews. I'm also doing a podcast every Friday.
I'm still working on finding the right fit for myself on Mother Popper, but the hope is that it becomes one of those mommy blogs that actually gets traffic and stimulates discussions on anything from how Scrubs has jumped the shark to explosive diapers.
Check it out, kids!
Whoa. In the last week, my belly has really started to... show. I can't say it's "popping" quite yet because it just looks fat. It's not round and therefore not obviously pregnant. Earlier this week, I met with some people whom I have not seen since January and I noticed both of them were eyeing my belly but not saying anything. I'm in that is-she-fat-or-is-she-pregnant stage. I was a little uncomfortable with it at the beginning of this week, but I don't really care now. At the rate I'm going, it'll soon be pretty obvious to the whole world.

What could and couldn't you eat during your pregnancy?
Well, there it is. I'm pregnant!
It feels weird to say and to type but it's true. I'll be 10 weeks along tomorrow and the due date is August 30, 2007 (a Thursday).
We ARE going to find out the baby's gender.
And we are getting air conditioning because I don't want to have to gorge myself on Tillamook ice cream all summer long to keep cool. But I may end up sitting in my air conditioning and gorging myself on ice cream anyway.
I've been feeling pretty queasy so far and I have thrown up twice (I'll spare you the details). I have an aversion to anything even remotely sweet. Smart Start breakfast cereal, for example, is too sweet for me right now. I'm not really craving much except buffalo sauce (as in boneless buffalo chicken wings). I get really sick when I try to cook anything in the kitchen so Jason has been cooking. Next week, we're going to try getting dinners from Dinners Ready! so neither of us has to cook.
Ummm... what else?
I'm continuing with my exercise. I have cut back to twice a week with my trainer and he has cut back on the intensity of our work-outs. I'm trying to do cardio 3-4 times a week on top of the work-outs with Dave but it depends on how I feel each week.
Fatigue? Check.
Irritability? Yep. (Especially with cashiers and waiters)
Sore breasts? You betcha. (TMI?)
