There's an "alternative radio" station in Portland that mostly drives me nuts. It's programmed to #3 in my car and I haven't found anything acceptable to replace it. Inevitably, I get annoyed with the local radio stations and start punching the buttons when I'm in the car. This "alternative" station is a crock. Today, the DJ- who speaks waaay too much like a DJ, if you know what I mean- was talking about who she liked on American Idol last night. American frickin' Idol?
Here are some very non-alternative bands that I often hear on the "alternative" station:
- R.E.M.
- Coldplay
- U2
- Red Hot Chili Peppers
- Sarah McLachlan
I think not.
