All we ever hear about from Iraq is how many people died today. We hear about insurgents, Sunnis and Shiites, and Al-Qaida. But, does it even make sense?
The latest edition of Frontline is extremely enlightening. I only watched half of it last night but I was riveted. It includes interviews with recently retired military generals and commanders about the changing American policy, and it clearly explains this recent troop surge.
If you can't catch it on PBS, you can watch online.
Two weeks ago, Jason and I started up a new website called Mother Popper. It's a melding of my unhealthy knowledge of current pop culture with my impending motherhood.
So... things like Maggie Gyllenhaal breastfeeding in public (no cover up, just a bare breast and a baby) are good topics. I'll also be writing about cool baby/kid/mommy/daddy items I find on the internet and hopefully will also be doing product reviews. I'm also doing a podcast every Friday.
I'm still working on finding the right fit for myself on Mother Popper, but the hope is that it becomes one of those mommy blogs that actually gets traffic and stimulates discussions on anything from how Scrubs has jumped the shark to explosive diapers.

This is a few days old, but whatever. Sarah Silverman hosted the always over-hyped MTV Movie Awards this week where she ripped into Paris Hilton for her DUI and impending jail sentence. Paris was right there in the audience with a camera in her face. I have long held that Paris is a worthless human being and I get some wicked enjoyment out of watching as her feelings get hurt. I particularly enjoy the cutaways to Jack Nicholson, who is obviously gaining newfound respect for Silverman
